Don't stop the music

The state of music education in many primary schools around the UK had fallen dramatically in recent times, with many children not able to get access to musical instruments. Don’t Stop the Music was a national music amnesty kickstarted by the classical musician, James Rhodes. His was simple; to gather all of the unwanted and unused instruments from around the UK and put them in the hands of pupils in need.

Code were commissioned by Fresh One and Channel 4 to design the site that would sit alongside the two part documentary. It needed to allow users to find out more about the campaign, donate their instruments and support the cause.

I lead the project from a creative perspective, setting the initial art direction and working with a wider team to deliver the site. The production and build of the site was later picked up by Rocket, a digital agency in Sheffield.

Don’t Stop the Music was nominated for an International Digital Emmy award (Digital program: non-fiction) in 2015.
